Lockheed Martin has introduced the PAC-3 Edge, a new interceptor designed to counter advanced threats like hypersonic missiles, as the US aims to bolster its missile defence capabilities. This upgrade to the Patriot missile defence system features a new seeker, enhanced flight controls, and a multi-pulse rocket motor for improved engagement at longer ranges and higher altitudes. The development is part of the US Army's Future Interceptor program, with testing targeted for 2027 and deployment by 2031.
