Nepal Urges Villagers to Evacuate After Landslide Triggers River Flood

Nepali authorities have urged villagers to evacuate to safer locations following a flood in a central river that swept away houses and infrastructure. The flood was triggered by a dry landslide in Chumnubri village, Gorkha district, which blocked the Budhi Gandaki River. While no casualties have been reported, about a dozen houses, two suspension bridges, and a highway bridge were washed away. Rescue personnel are on the ground, and alerts have been issued to residents in downstream districts.

नेपाली अधिकारियों ने मध्य नेपाल की एक नदी में आई बाढ़ के बाद ग्रामीणों से सुरक्षित स्थानों पर जाने का आग्रह किया है। इस बाढ़ में कई घर और बुनियादी ढाँचे बह गए। गोरखा जिले के चुमनुब्री गांव में सूखे भूस्खलन के कारण बुढी गंडकी नदी अवरुद्ध हो गई थी, जिससे यह बाढ़ आई। हालांकि अभी तक किसी के हताहत होने की खबर नहीं है, लेकिन करीब एक दर्जन घर, दो सस्पेंशन ब्रिज और एक हाईवे ब्रिज बह गए हैं। बचावकर्मी मौके पर मौजूद हैं और निचले जिलों के निवासियों को भी अलर्ट जारी कर दिया गया है।
