The Madurai Corporation has allocated Rs 60.90 lakh to repair, renovate, and maintain public toilets, market restrooms, bus stand facilities, and school sanitation units across the city. This initiative addresses numerous complaints regarding the poor condition and inadequate maintenance of existing facilities. The planned upgrades will cover 15 specific locations, including markets, bus stands, schools, and roadsides. While welcomed, experts emphasize the critical need for sustained daily and regular maintenance to ensure the long-term success of these improvements.
