Ladakh has dispatched its first consignment of 15,000 Lilium flowers to major Indian markets, including Delhi, Mumbai, and Chandigarh. Cultivated at an altitude of 10,600 feet in Leh, these premium blooms are expected to boost economic opportunities and entrepreneurship in the region. This initiative, hailed as a major agricultural shift, aims to create sustainable livelihoods, with local women involved in cutting, sorting, and packaging the flowers. The Union Territory administration plans to replicate this high-altitude floriculture model in other districts.

लद्दाख ने दिल्ली, मुंबई और चंडीगढ़ सहित भारत के प्रमुख बाजारों में 15,000 लिली फूलों की अपनी पहली खेप भेजी है। लेह में 10,600 फीट की ऊंचाई पर उगाए गए इन प्रीमियम फूलों से इस क्षेत्र में आर्थिक अवसरों और उद्यमिता को बढ़ावा मिलने की उम्मीद है। इस पहल को एक बड़े कृषि बदलाव के रूप में सराहा जा रहा है, जिसका उद्देश्य टिकाऊ आजीविका बनाना है, जिसमें स्थानीय महिलाएं फूलों की कटाई, छंटाई और पैकेजिंग में शामिल हैं। केंद्र शासित प्रदेश प्रशासन अन्य जिलों में भी इस उच्च-ऊंचाई फ्लोरिकल्चर मॉडल को दोहराने की योजना बना रहा है।
