RMLIMS Inaugurates Advanced Laser System For Diabetic Retinopathy Diagnosis

Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS) in Lucknow has inaugurated a new pattern-scanning retinal laser system and an Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography (OCTA) facility. These advanced tools will enable faster diagnosis and treatment for patients suffering from diabetic retinopathy. A 2025 study indicated that 22.8% of people with diabetes in parts of Lakhimpur Kheri and Shahjahanpur had diabetic retinopathy, with 5.8% experiencing its sight-threatening form.

लखनऊ के राम मनोहर लोहिया इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ मेडिकल साइंसेज (RMLIMS) ने एक नए पैटर्न-स्कैनिंग रेटिनल लेजर सिस्टम और एक ऑप्टिकल कोहेरेंस टोमोग्राफी एंजियोग्राफी (OCTA) सुविधा का उद्घाटन किया है। ये उन्नत उपकरण डायबिटिक रेटिनोपैथी से पीड़ित मरीजों के लिए तेजी से निदान और उपचार को सक्षम करेंगे। 2025 के एक अध्ययन में संकेत दिया गया है कि लखीमपुर खीरी और शाहजहांपुर के कुछ हिस्सों में मधुमेह वाले 22.8% लोगों में डायबिटिक रेटिनोपैथी थी, जिसमें 5.8% को इसके दृष्टि-खतरे वाले रूप का अनुभव हुआ।
