Venezuela Blocks Machado's Return Three Times

Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado was denied entry into the country three times in 24 hours while attempting to return from exile. Machado, a Nobel Peace Prize recipient, was prevented from entering by air and sea. The Venezuelan government considers her a fugitive, accusing her of advocating for military intervention. Her attempts to return follow a period of repression after disputed elections in July 2024.
