India Accepted Hasina As She Was Still PM: Envoy

India's High Commissioner in Dhaka, Dinesh Trivedi, stated that former Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina arrived in India on a Bangladeshi military aircraft, not an Indian one. He clarified that India had little choice but to accept her arrival as she was still the Prime Minister at that time. Trivedi also confirmed that the legal process concerning Bangladesh's request for Hasina's extradition is ongoing and cannot be given a timeframe due to court involvement. He emphasized that India's relationship with Bangladesh is independent of Dhaka's ties with other nations.

ढाका में भारत के उच्चायुक्त, दिनेश त्रिवेदी ने कहा कि पूर्व बांग्लादेशी प्रधानमंत्री शेख हसीना एक भारतीय विमान से नहीं, बल्कि एक बांग्लादेशी सैन्य विमान से भारत आई थीं। उन्होंने स्पष्ट किया कि भारत के पास उनके आगमन को स्वीकार करने के अलावा बहुत कम विकल्प था क्योंकि वह उस समय प्रधानमंत्री थीं। त्रिवेदी ने यह भी पुष्टि की कि हसीना के प्रत्यर्पण के लिए बांग्लादेश के अनुरोध से संबंधित कानूनी प्रक्रिया जारी है और इसमें अदालत की संलिप्तता के कारण कोई समय-सीमा नहीं दी जा सकती है। उन्होंने इस बात पर जोर दिया कि बांग्लादेश के साथ भारत का रिश्ता ढाका के अन्य देशों के साथ संबंधों से स्वतंत्र है।
