Keralam Opens First Gig Worker Resting Hub

Keralam's first wellness hub for gig workers, named GIGON, is set to open in Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. This initiative by the Labour department aims to provide essential facilities like resting spaces, drinking water, and washrooms for delivery workers and taxi drivers. The hub will operate from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Initially, GIGON hubs will be established in Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, and Kozhikode, with ₹1 crore sanctioned for the project.

केरल में गिग वर्कर्स के लिए पहला वेलनेस हब, GIGON, 23 सितंबर 2026 को तिरुवनंतपुरम में खुलेगा। लेबर डिपार्टमेंट की इस पहल से डिलीवरी वर्कर्स और टैक्सी ड्राइवर्स को आराम करने की जगह, पीने का पानी और वॉशरूम जैसी ज़रूरी सुविधाएँ मिलेंगी। यह हब सुबह 8 बजे से रात 10 बजे तक खुला रहेगा। शुरुआत में तिरुवनंतपुरम, एर्नाकुलम और कोझिकोड में GIGON हब बनेंगे, जिसके लिए ₹1 करोड़ मंज़ूर किए गए हैं।
