North Carolina state Senate candidate Jonathan D. Miller live-posted an armed standoff with police on October 26. Miller, the Libertarian candidate for the 16th Senate District, posted updates from the woods as officers pursued him. He was arrested without shots fired after refusing to comply with orders regarding a pistol and fleeing into nearby woods. Miller had initially posted about suicidal intentions before the police confrontation. The Libertarian Party of North Carolina acknowledged the situation and thanked police for a non-violent resolution.
