Supreme Court Judge Notes Delhi's Air Will Worsen Post-Diwali

Supreme Court judge Vikram Nath commented on Wednesday that Delhi's air quality will significantly deteriorate after Diwali. He made the observation while entertaining a request to defer a hearing to November 17. The judge humorously suggested that appearing before Diwali would mean a cleaner environment, while post-Diwali would be worse. Another Supreme Court bench is scheduled to hear the issue of firecracker permissions for Diwali on Thursday. The court is monitoring Delhi's pollution levels in a suo motu proceeding.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट के जज विक्रम नाथ ने बुधवार को टिप्पणी की कि दिवाली के बाद दिल्ली की हवा की गुणवत्ता काफी खराब हो जाएगी। उन्होंने यह बात 17 नवंबर तक सुनवाई स्थगित करने के अनुरोध पर कही। जज ने मजाकिया अंदाज में कहा कि दिवाली से पहले पेश होने का मतलब साफ माहौल होगा, जबकि दिवाली के बाद स्थिति बदतर होगी। सुप्रीम कोर्ट की एक अन्य पीठ गुरुवार को दिवाली के लिए पटाखों की अनुमति के मुद्दे पर सुनवाई करेगी। अदालत एक स्वतः संज्ञान कार्यवाही में दिल्ली के प्रदूषण स्तर की निगरानी कर रही है।
