The Income Tax Department has identified significant reporting deficiencies in over 35,000 property transactions valued at more than ₹55,000 crore in Gurugram's Badshahpur tehsil. A survey by the Directorate of Intelligence and Criminal Investigation found that these high-value deals were either not reported or incorrectly reported to tax authorities. Discrepancies included details not being furnished and the use of incorrect Permanent Account Numbers (PANs). The department will now examine these transactions to determine if they represent reporting errors or deliberate attempts to conceal identities, impacting tax compliance efforts.
