PMO Directs Odisha Govt on Textbook Printing Complaint

The Prime Minister’s Office has directed the Odisha School and Mass Education department to act on a complaint alleging financial irregularities in textbook printing. RTI activist Pradip Pradhan filed the complaint, citing a deputy director's role in overseeing printing despite it falling under a different department. The complaint also alleges a private agency linked to the officer's wife benefited from contracts. Pradhan seeks an independent investigation into alleged financial irregularities and asset accumulation by officials.

प्रधानमंत्री कार्यालय ने ओडिशा स्कूल और जन शिक्षा विभाग को पाठ्यपुस्तक छपाई में वित्तीय अनियमितताओं के आरोपों पर कार्रवाई करने का निर्देश दिया है। आरटीआई कार्यकर्ता प्रदीप प्रधान ने शिकायत दर्ज कराई, जिसमें एक उप निदेशक की छपाई की देखरेख में भूमिका का हवाला दिया गया है, जबकि यह एक अलग विभाग के अंतर्गत आता है। शिकायत में यह भी आरोप लगाया गया है कि अधिकारी की पत्नी से जुड़ी एक निजी एजेंसी को अनुबंधों से लाभ हुआ। प्रधान ने अधिकारियों द्वारा कथित वित्तीय अनियमितताओं और संपत्ति संचय की स्वतंत्र जांच की मांग की है।
