Former Bengaluru Police Commissioner Bhaskar Rao has formally requested the Union Home Ministry to investigate YouTuber Dhruv Rathee's citizenship and visa status. Rao's plea follows Rathee's participation in an anti-Special Intensive Revision (SIR) protest in Bengaluru on October 8. Rao alleges that Rathee, believed to be a German citizen, may have violated Indian laws by engaging in political protests while on a specific visa. The former police chief seeks confirmation of Rathee's nationality, passport, visa category, and adherence to the terms of his stay.

पूर्व बेंगलुरु पुलिस कमिश्नर भास्कर राव ने केंद्रीय गृह मंत्रालय से यूट्यूबर ध्रुव राठी की नागरिकता और वीज़ा स्थिति की जाँच करने का औपचारिक अनुरोध किया है। राव की यह अपील 8 अक्टूबर को बेंगलुरु में एक एंटी-स्पेशल इंटेंसिव रिवीजन (SIR) विरोध प्रदर्शन में राठी की भागीदारी के बाद आई है। राव का आरोप है कि राठी, जो जर्मन नागरिक माने जाते हैं, एक विशेष वीज़ा पर रहते हुए राजनीतिक विरोध प्रदर्शनों में शामिल होकर भारतीय कानूनों का उल्लंघन कर सकते हैं। पूर्व पुलिस प्रमुख राठी की राष्ट्रीयता, पासपोर्ट, वीज़ा श्रेणी और उनके प्रवास की शर्तों के पालन की पुष्टि चाहते हैं।
