Al Jazeera · world
The United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) reports that over 250,000 people have been internally displaced in Yemen since fighting escalated in July. The city of Taiz is at the epicenter of this crisis, accounting for a significant portion of departures and newly displaced individuals. Intensified shelling and restricted access are hindering humanitarian efforts, with urgent needs identified for shelter, food, and cash assistance. UNICEF also warns that escalating conflict and fuel shortages threaten water systems serving millions, including many children.
