The United States is bracing for a winter that is predicted to be generally warmer and wetter, according to federal forecasters. The El Niño phenomenon is expected to drive these changes, bringing more moisture but also higher temperatures, which could alleviate Western drought conditions. However, snow lovers in the northern regions may be disappointed, with below-normal snowfall anticipated across the Northeast, Great Lakes, Upper Midwest, and Northern Rockies. Conversely, the Southern Rockies, Southeast, and Southwest might experience more snow than usual.
