Times of India · politics
Congress MLA Amin Patel has alleged that nearly 40% of voters in Mumbai's Mumbadevi constituency have been wrongly categorised as permanently shifted, dead, untraceable, or duplicates. He has written to the Maharashtra Chief Electoral Officer urging him to prevent voter exclusion due to data errors. Patel highlighted cases where individuals were marked as deceased despite being alive and noted issues with BLO accessibility and understanding of new procedures following Supreme Court observations. The MLA, representing the Congress stronghold since 2009, stressed the need for proper verification before removing names.
