Filmmaker Mehul Kumar, who directed Nana Patekar in three films, including the blockbusters 'Tiranga' and 'Krantiveer', expressed disbelief at the actor's passing. Kumar recalled Patekar's healthy lifestyle, noting his only issue was his temper, but emphasized his kind heart and strong family bond with Kumar's family. Patekar once agreed to star in 'Tiranga' after Rajinikanth refused the role. Kumar also revealed that Patekar had agreed to star in 'Krantiveer 2'.
