Times of India · sports

Weather-hit Eden Gardens saw Maharashtra gain an upper hand against Bengal in their Ranji Trophy Elite Group C clash on Wednesday. Maharashtra reduced Bengal to 76/4 in their second innings, holding a slender one-run lead over Maharashtra's first-innings total of 218. Only 27.5 overs were bowled on Day III due to rain. Tanay Sanghvi remained unbeaten on 60 for Maharashtra, while Mohammed Shami took 4/37 for Bengal. An outright win would place Maharashtra level with Bengal at the top of the group.
