A parliamentary panel has called for a sweeping overhaul of the NTA following the cancellation of NEET-UG 2026, despite enhanced security measures like biometric checks and AI-monitored CCTV. The committee highlighted structural weaknesses in staffing, accountability, and transparency, suggesting that security upgrades alone are insufficient. Recommendations include moving NEET to computer-based testing, building secure question banks, and investing NTA's surplus in government-run test centres. The panel also urged for an independent audit mechanism and permanent recruitment of experts to rebuild public trust.

संसदीय समिति ने NEET-UG 2026 के रद्द होने के बाद NTA में बड़े बदलाव की मांग की है, भले ही बायोमेट्रिक जांच और AI-निगरानी वाले CCTV जैसे सुरक्षा उपाय बढ़ाए गए थे। समिति ने स्टाफिंग, जवाबदेही और पारदर्शिता में संरचनात्मक कमजोरियों को उजागर किया, और कहा कि केवल सुरक्षा उपाय बढ़ाना पर्याप्त नहीं है। सिफारिशों में NEET को कंप्यूटर-आधारित परीक्षण में बदलना, सुरक्षित प्रश्न बैंक बनाना और NTA के अतिरिक्त धन को सरकारी परीक्षा केंद्रों में निवेश करना शामिल है। समिति ने स्वतंत्र ऑडिट तंत्र और जनता का विश्वास फिर से बनाने के लिए विशेषज्ञों की स्थायी भर्ती का भी आग्रह किया।
