Ajinkya Rahane Calls for Abolishing IPL's Impact Player Rule

Times of India · sports

Former India cricketer Ajinkya Rahane has joined the growing debate surrounding the IPL's Impact Player rule, advocating for its removal. Rahane believes the rule has served its purpose and is now hindering the development of all-rounders in Indian cricket. He noted that many captains expressed a desire to remove the rule before the current season. Rahane feels the rule provides an unfair advantage to batters, potentially inflating scores significantly, and suggests it should be removed to benefit bowlers and encourage all-rounders.
