Supreme Court Dismisses Developer's Plea, Clearing Mumbai Metro 6 Depot Land

The Supreme Court has dismissed a developer's plea challenging the Bombay High Court's order to transfer 15 hectares of Kanjurmarg salt pan land for the Mumbai Metro Line 6 depot. The court stated it was not inclined to interfere with the High Court's judgment, which had cleared the transfer to the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA). This decision removes a significant hurdle for the construction of the Swami Samarth Nagar-Vikhroli Metro 6 depot. The Metro Line 6 will connect Vikhroli to Andheri Lokhandwala, improving connectivity in the city.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने कांजुरमार्ग नमक पैन भूमि के 15 हेक्टेयर को मुंबई मेट्रो लाइन 6 डिपो के लिए स्थानांतरित करने के बॉम्बे हाई कोर्ट के आदेश को चुनौती देने वाली एक डेवलपर की याचिका खारिज कर दी है। अदालत ने कहा कि वह हाई कोर्ट के फैसले में हस्तक्षेप करने के इच्छुक नहीं है, जिसने मुंबई मेट्रोपॉलिटन रीजन डेवलपमेंट अथॉरिटी (MMRDA) को हस्तांतरण को मंजूरी दी थी। इस फैसले से स्वामी समर्थ नगर-विक्रोली मेट्रो 6 डिपो के निर्माण में एक बड़ी बाधा दूर हो गई है। मेट्रो लाइन 6 विक्रोली को अंधेरी लोखंडवाला से जोड़ेगी, जिससे शहर में कनेक्टिविटी में सुधार होगा।
