Sebi Urges Brokerages to Join Past Return Verification Platform Amid Low Adoption

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) is encouraging brokerage firms to join its Past Risk and Return Verification Agency (PaRRVA) platform, as participation remains low since its May operationalisation. The platform, with Care Ratings as the verification agency and NSE as the data centre, aims to independently verify historical risk and return metrics of market intermediaries. Despite Sebi's efforts, only four qualified stock brokers have enrolled, alongside around 370 other intermediaries, with concerns over high annual costs of up to ₹1 crore cited as a barrier.
