Hindustan Times · india

Chief Justice of India Surya Kant stated on Friday that the Constitution must guide the judiciary when the law is silent, emphasizing that its promises of dignity, liberty, and equality remain constant despite technological advancements. He noted that courts now face novel questions regarding artificial intelligence, deepfakes, and balancing innovation with individual rights, which often lack direct statutory answers. Speaking at the Delhi High Court's 60th anniversary, CJI Kant highlighted the court's significant role in addressing national issues and its substantial contribution to reducing the Supreme Court's workload.
