India's Agrivoltaic Capacity To Exceed 5 GW In 3-4 Years

The Hindu - Business · business

India's agrivoltaic capacity is projected to surpass 5 gigawatts within the next three to four years, according to MNRE Secretary Santosh Sarangi. This growth is contingent on states notifying feed-in tariffs, which would provide farmers and cooperatives with the certainty needed for investment decisions. Several states, including Odisha, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh, have already conducted pilot projects. The Union Ministry for New and Renewable Energy is also planning a central sector scheme to support agrivoltaics, potentially integrating it into existing programs.
