PMK president Anbumani Ramadoss has criticised the Tamil Nadu government for delays in notifying the Pallikaranai marshland as a wetland. He questioned the Wetland Authority's speed in reducing the buffer zone to 316 acres, down from 8,397 acres, suggesting it prioritises construction companies over environmental protection. Ramadoss demanded the immediate notification of all wetlands in Tamil Nadu and urged the government to abandon proposed construction projects around the Pallikaranai marshland. He stressed that buffer zones should be scientifically determined to protect these vital ecosystems.

पीएमके अध्यक्ष अंबुमणि रामदास ने तमिलनाडु सरकार की पल्लिकरनई आर्द्रभूमि को वेटलैंड के रूप में अधिसूचित करने में देरी की आलोचना की है। उन्होंने वेटलैंड अथॉरिटी की बफर ज़ोन को 8,397 एकड़ से घटाकर 316 एकड़ करने की गति पर सवाल उठाया, जिससे यह संकेत मिलता है कि यह पर्यावरण संरक्षण पर निर्माण कंपनियों को प्राथमिकता दे रही है। रामदास ने तमिलनाडु में सभी वेटलैंड्स की तत्काल अधिसूचना की मांग की और सरकार से पल्लिकरनई आर्द्रभूमि के आसपास प्रस्तावित निर्माण परियोजनाओं को छोड़ने का आग्रह किया। उन्होंने इस बात पर जोर दिया कि इन महत्वपूर्ण पारिस्थितिक तंत्रों की रक्षा के लिए बफर ज़ोन वैज्ञानिक रूप से निर्धारित किए जाने चाहिए।
