Election Commission Affirms Unanimous Decision on Nationwide Electoral Roll Scrutiny

The Election Commission has filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court stating that the decision to conduct a nationwide scrutiny of electoral rolls on June 24, 2025, was unanimous. The affidavit, approved by the Chief Election Commissioner and the two Election Commissioners, asserts there was no difference of opinion among them. This filing contradicts opposition claims that the CEC unilaterally decided on the scrutiny at the government's behest.

चुनाव आयोग ने सुप्रीम कोर्ट में एक हलफनामा दायर कर कहा है कि 24 जून, 2025 को राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर चुनावी सूचियों की जांच कराने का फैसला सर्वसम्मति से लिया गया था। मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त और दो चुनाव आयुक्तों द्वारा स्वीकृत हलफनामे में कहा गया है कि उनके बीच कोई मतभेद नहीं था। यह हलफनामा विपक्ष के उन दावों का खंडन करता है कि सरकार के कहने पर सीईसी ने अकेले ही जांच का फैसला किया था।
