सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने नए फॉर्म-6 पर अपना रुख साफ कर दिया है, यह बताते हुए कि उसने न तो संशोधित फॉर्म को मंजूरी दी है और न ही खारिज किया है। मुख्य न्यायाधीश सूर्य कांत और न्यायमूर्ति जॉयमाल्या बागची की अगुवाई वाली एक पीठ ने इस बात पर जोर दिया कि बिहार एसआईआर मामले का फैसला सुनाए जाने के समय नया फॉर्म मौजूद नहीं था। अदालत ने मीडिया और वकीलों को सनसनीखेज खबरों के लिए अपनी बातों को गलत तरीके से पेश करने के खिलाफ चेतावनी भी दी। एक नई जनहित याचिका दायर की गई है, जिसमें मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त ज्ञान प्रकाश को पक्षकार बनाया गया है, जो चुनाव आयोग के दावों पर सवाल उठाती है।
