India's cement industry, the world's second-largest, is accelerating decarbonisation efforts to achieve net-zero emissions within 15-20 years. Manufacturers are increasing green power adoption, using blended cement, alternative fuels, and improving clinker efficiency. Initiatives like waste heat recovery systems (WHRS) and renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power are being implemented. Ramco Cements, for instance, met about 40% of its energy needs through green power in FY26.
