Gautam Gambhir Backs Mayank Yadav To Bowl Fast After India's Loss

Times of India · sports

India head coach Gautam Gambhir stated that games are not decided in the first over, despite Mayank Yadav's impressive opening spell against the West Indies. Yadav took three wickets in three overs, but India failed to defend 249 runs. Gambhir urged fast bowlers to maintain their pace, emphasizing that their careers are also at stake. He also called for better pitches that offer a fair contest between bat and ball, rather than favoring high-scoring matches. Gambhir believes balanced conditions will lead to better cricket overall.
