Times of India - India · india

In 2016, a Texas couple rescued two goats, Cookie and Bertha, from a dairy farm. What began in their half-acre South Austin backyard has now expanded significantly. The Austin Farm Sanctuary now covers 95 acres in Paige, Texas, and cares for nearly 240 rescued animals. These residents include goats, pigs, cows, turkeys, donkeys, and even water buffalo, many of whom were elderly, disabled, or surrendered because they were no longer profitable. The sanctuary provides specialized care, funded by donations, for animals that farms have written off.
