German Court Rules Google Needs Consent For Property Images

A German court in Hesse has ruled that Google must obtain consent before publishing aerial images of private properties on its Maps and Earth services. The ruling came in a case brought by a Frankfurt man who argued that the publication of images of his home and property invaded his privacy. The court stated that no one should have to accept worldwide publication of aerial images of their property without consent, especially concerning areas not visible from public view.
