Kota's Ordinary Citizens Become Guardians For Students Facing Distress

Times of India · education

In Kota, ordinary citizens like autorickshaw driver Badri and housekeeping worker Komal are being trained to recognise and respond to signs of suicidal distress among students. These individuals are not mental health professionals but play a crucial role in connecting students with counselling services. This initiative comes after a challenging year in 2023, which saw 27 student suicides, prompting the city to implement new strategies to protect its young aspirants.
