Delhi's Air Quality Index Explained: How It's Calculated

TV9 Hindi · environment

Delhi's air quality has worsened, with AQI readings reaching 'poor' levels in several areas like ITO (280) and near AIIMS (276). AQI is a crucial tool developed by the CPCB in 2014 to help the public understand air pollution levels and their health impacts. It is calculated by measuring the concentration of eight key pollutants, including PM2.5, PM10, NO2, SO2, O3, CO, NH3, and Lead. The highest sub-index among these pollutants determines the overall AQI, which is then categorized into six levels.
