Man Trampled To Death By Elephant In Forest

A 43-year-old man was killed by an elephant on Wednesday morning while collecting mushrooms in the Benageria forest in West Midnapore district. Identified as Gangadhar Dolui, he was attacked by a herd near the Arabari range. While others fled, an elephant flung him to the ground. He was declared dead at a nearby hospital. Forest officials are arranging government compensation for his family.

पश्चिम मेदिनीपुर जिले के बेनागेरिया जंगल में बुधवार सुबह मशरूम तोड़ने गए 43 साल के गंगाधर डोलाई को हाथियों के झुंड ने कुचलकर मार डाला। अरबारी रेंज के पास यह घटना हुई। बाकी लोग तो भाग गए, लेकिन एक हाथी ने उन्हें उठाकर पटक दिया। अस्पताल ले जाने पर उन्हें मृत घोषित कर दिया गया। वन विभाग उनके परिवार को सरकारी मुआवजा देने की व्यवस्था कर रहा है।
