Akal Takht Jathedar Declares Slain Activist Parvinder Singh Jhota a Martyr

The officiating jathedar of the Akal Takht, Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj, has declared anti-drug activist Parvinder Singh Jhota, who was shot dead, a "shaheed" (martyr). Gargaj visited Jhota's bereaved family in Mansa, condemning the murder and calling the Punjab minister's description of it as personal enmity "shameful." He criticized the government's response, stating that suspending the SHO was insufficient and demanding accountability for officials responsible for preventing drug trafficking.

अकाल तख्त के कार्यकारी जत्थेदार ज्ञानी कुलदीप सिंह गर्गज ने गोली मारकर मारे गए नशा विरोधी एक्टिविस्ट परविंदर सिंह झोटा को "शहीद" घोषित किया है। गर्गज ने मानसा में झोटा के शोक संतप्त परिवार से मुलाकात की, हत्या की निंदा की और पंजाब मंत्री द्वारा इसे व्यक्तिगत दुश्मनी बताने को "शर्मनाक" बताया। उन्होंने सरकार की प्रतिक्रिया की आलोचना करते हुए कहा कि एसएचओ को निलंबित करना पर्याप्त नहीं है और नशीली दवाओं की तस्करी को रोकने के लिए जिम्मेदार अधिकारियों को जवाबदेह ठहराया जाना चाहिए।
