The FDA is cracking down on businesses operating without mandatory FSSAI registration and local body permissions, citing online promotions of home-based food sales. FDA Director Shweta Dessai emphasized that while entrepreneurship is encouraged, compliance with food safety and hygiene standards is crucial. Failure to obtain necessary licenses and adhere to norms will result in legal action, including potential prosecution and penalties up to Rs 10 lakh for caterers and party halls.

FDA ने बिना रजिस्ट्रेशन वाले होम बेकर्स, स्नैक सेलर्स, कैटरर्स और पार्टी वेन्यू को नोटिस जारी किया है। FDA ऑनलाइन होम-बेस्ड फूड बिक्री के प्रचार का हवाला देते हुए, अनिवार्य FSSAI रजिस्ट्रेशन और स्थानीय निकाय की मंजूरी के बिना चल रहे व्यवसायों पर नकेल कस रहा है। FDA डायरेक्टर श्वेता देसाई ने इस बात पर जोर दिया कि उद्यमिता को प्रोत्साहित किया जाता है, लेकिन खाद्य सुरक्षा और स्वच्छता मानकों का पालन करना महत्वपूर्ण है। आवश्यक लाइसेंस प्राप्त करने और नियमों का पालन करने में विफलता के परिणामस्वरूप कानूनी कार्रवाई होगी, जिसमें कैटरर्स और पार्टी हॉल के लिए 10 लाख रुपये तक का जुर्माना और संभावित अभियोजन शामिल है।
