AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami has launched a strong attack on the ruling TVK government, calling it the "worst regime in the country." He alleged that the current by-election was necessitated by an MLA's defection, calling it a "murder of democracy." Palaniswami accused the TVK of poaching MLAs and becoming a "force of theft" rather than a "pure force." He also criticized the government for failing to control inflation, maintain law and order, and warned of a potential Rs 20 lakh crore debt burden in five years.

एआईएडीएमके के महासचिव एडप्पाडी के पलानीस्वामी ने सत्तारूढ़ टीवीके सरकार पर जोरदार हमला बोला है, इसे "देश की सबसे खराब सरकार" कहा है। उन्होंने आरोप लगाया कि वर्तमान उपचुनाव एक विधायक के पाला बदलने के कारण हुआ, जिसे उन्होंने "लोकतंत्र की हत्या" बताया। पलानीस्वामी ने टीवीके पर विधायकों की खरीद-फरोख्त करने और "शुद्ध शक्ति" के बजाय "चोरी की शक्ति" बनने का आरोप लगाया। उन्होंने सरकार पर महंगाई को नियंत्रित करने, कानून व्यवस्था बनाए रखने में विफल रहने की भी आलोचना की और पांच साल में 20 लाख करोड़ रुपये के कर्ज के बोझ की चेतावनी दी।
