Congress Govt Denies Crop Holiday, Cites Farmer Caution on Water-Intensive Crops

Telangana government advisor Mohammed Ali Shabbir has refuted claims of a crop holiday, stating the Congress administration has only advised farmers against water-intensive Rabi crops like paddy without assured irrigation. He explained that warning farmers about potential water scarcity risks is not a crop holiday, drawing parallels to similar advisories issued during the previous BRS regime. Shabbir attributed the current water crisis to incomplete irrigation projects, with reservoirs holding significantly less water than their capacity.

तेलंगाना सरकार के सलाहकार मोहम्मद अली शब्बीर ने क्रॉप हॉलिडे की खबरों को खारिज कर दिया है। उन्होंने कहा कि कांग्रेस सरकार ने किसानों को केवल बिना पक्की सिंचाई वाले धान जैसी पानी वाली रबी फसलों से बचने की सलाह दी है। उन्होंने समझाया कि किसानों को पानी की कमी के जोखिमों के बारे में चेतावनी देना क्रॉप हॉलिडे नहीं है, और ऐसा ही पहले बीआरएस सरकार के समय भी हुआ था। शब्बीर ने कहा कि पानी की कमी का कारण अधूरे सिंचाई प्रोजेक्ट हैं, और जलाशयों में क्षमता से बहुत कम पानी है।
