Adilabad police have arrested Raj Kumar Roy, 69, managing director of Unique Mercantile India Limited, in connection with an alleged investment fraud worth hundreds of crores. Roy is accused of collecting money from the public by promising attractive investment schemes and high returns. Preliminary investigations suggest around 10,000 people nationwide may have been affected, with transactions involving about 2,000 members in Adilabad amounting to ₹7-8 crore. Investigators suspect the collected funds were used to purchase hotels and land across Telangana and other states.

आदिलाबाद पुलिस ने यूनिक मर्केंटाइल इंडिया लिमिटेड के मैनेजिंग डायरेक्टर राज कुमार रॉय, 69, को करोड़ों रुपये की कथित निवेश धोखाधड़ी के संबंध में गिरफ्तार किया है। रॉय पर आकर्षक निवेश योजनाओं और उच्च रिटर्न का वादा करके जनता से पैसे इकट्ठा करने का आरोप है। शुरुआती जांच से पता चलता है कि देशभर में करीब 10,000 लोग प्रभावित हो सकते हैं, जिसमें आदिलाबाद में करीब 2,000 सदस्यों के ₹7-8 करोड़ के लेनदेन शामिल हैं। जांचकर्ताओं को संदेह है कि इकट्ठा किए गए धन का इस्तेमाल तेलंगाना और अन्य राज्यों में होटलों और जमीन की खरीद के लिए किया गया था।
