Russia Begins Elections With First Voters Arriving

Voting has commenced across Russia for the ninth State Duma and other elections, with the first voters arriving at polling stations in the country's Far East. Polling stations opened at 8:00 a.m. local time in Kamchatka on September 18, following a 11:00 p.m. Moscow time opening on September 17. Real-time video surveillance shows citizens receiving ballots and casting their votes. The elections are scheduled to continue from September 18 to September 20.
