India Unveils AI Training Framework Using 'Sealed Rooms' For Sensitive Data
Mint · technology
India has launched a new framework allowing AI models to be trained on sensitive data without it leaving institutions like hospitals and banks. The Data Empowerment and Protection Architecture (DEPA) for AI Training framework brings AI models to the data, rather than moving data to researchers. This approach ensures data remains with its owner within a secure computing environment, accessible only through authorized digital contracts. Consultations will begin soon, with the framework expected to be legally established over time, aligning with India's upcoming data privacy law.
