New Raisin Processing Unit Opens For Farmers

Grape farmers in Vijayapura, Bagalkot, and Belagavi districts will soon benefit from a new raisin processing and cold storage unit in Vijayapura, opening in November. Funded by NABARD and the State government, the facility, established by the Karnataka Grape and Wine Board, can process 10,000 tonnes annually. This unit aims to reduce transportation costs to Maharashtra and offer better prices to farmers, preventing distress sales.
