Bihar Govt Puts Mata Sita Women's University Plans On Hold

The Bihar government has paused further proceedings for the proposed Mata Sita Mahila Vishwavidyalaya in Patna. This decision comes pending consultations with stakeholders after the ongoing election process concludes. The higher education department has been directed to consider suggestions before taking any further action. The state cabinet had previously approved the women's university under the Bihar Specialised Universities Act, 2026, but it faced opposition from faculty members over organisational and administrative changes.

बिहार सरकार ने पटना में प्रस्तावित माता सीता महिला विश्वविद्यालय के लिए आगे की कार्यवाही रोक दी है। यह फैसला चुनाव प्रक्रिया समाप्त होने के बाद हितधारकों के साथ विचार-विमर्श लंबित रहने तक लिया गया है। उच्च शिक्षा विभाग को कोई भी आगे की कार्रवाई करने से पहले सुझावों पर विचार करने का निर्देश दिया गया है। राज्य मंत्रिमंडल ने पहले बिहार विशेषीकृत विश्वविद्यालय अधिनियम, 2026 के तहत महिला विश्वविद्यालय को मंजूरी दी थी, लेकिन संगठनात्मक और प्रशासनिक परिवर्तनों को लेकर संकाय सदस्यों से इसका विरोध हुआ था।
