A powerful explosion destroyed a house in Varanasi's Paigambarpur area on Thursday evening, leading to a major rescue operation. Two men were pulled alive from the rubble with minor injuries, but a woman is feared trapped. The house belonged to a firecracker trader, and rescue efforts were cautious due to the potential presence of stored explosives. The blast's intensity caused a neighbouring structure's outer wall to collapse. Authorities are investigating the cause, with teams including the Anti-Terrorism Squad on site.
