AIFF Members Stall President's Plan To Liquidate Fixed Deposit

AIFF President Kalyan Chaubey's proposal to liquidate the federation's fixed deposit to cover the deficit from hosting international friendly matches was stalled by members. Officials stated that the fixed deposit is meant only for emergencies and cannot be touched. Chaubey had previously claimed the federation would bear no financial burden for the matches against Brazil, Uruguay, and Panama. The estimated cost for these friendlies ranges between ₹80 crore and ₹85 crore. The matter will be discussed further by the Executive Committee.

AIFF अध्यक्ष कल्याण चौबे के अंतरराष्ट्रीय मैत्री मैचों की मेजबानी से हुए घाटे को पूरा करने के लिए फेडरेशन की फिक्स्ड डिपॉजिट को भुनाने के प्रस्ताव को सदस्यों ने रोक दिया। अधिकारियों ने कहा कि फिक्स्ड डिपॉजिट केवल आपात स्थिति के लिए है और इसे छुआ नहीं जा सकता। चौबे ने पहले दावा किया था कि फेडरेशन पर ब्राजील, उरुग्वे और पनामा के खिलाफ मैचों का कोई वित्तीय बोझ नहीं पड़ेगा। इन मैत्री मैचों की अनुमानित लागत ₹80 करोड़ से ₹85 करोड़ के बीच है। इस मामले पर कार्यकारी समिति द्वारा आगे चर्चा की जाएगी।
