This transfer comes amid mounting allegations of mishandling the case, where Veeramani is accused of sexually abusing minor girls. The Greater Chennai police are also investigating claims that political figures extorted money from the businessman after learning about the case. Meanwhile, the POCSO Special Court has granted custody of Veeramani's alleged accomplice, Shanthi, and her husband for interrogation.
