The Finance Ministry has directed State and UT Level Bankers' Committees to mandatorily report data on the percentage of Scheduled Caste beneficiaries availing key government schemes for jobs and entrepreneurship. This directive follows concerns raised by the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) that the absence of this data was hindering its constitutional duties. The NCSC highlighted that this information was missing from regular reviews, impacting its ability to monitor socio-economic development for SC communities. The committees, chaired by RBI-notified banks, include government departments and financial institutions and meet quarterly.

वित्त मंत्रालय ने राज्य और केंद्र शासित प्रदेश स्तरीय बैंकर्स समितियों को निर्देश दिया है कि वे नौकरी और उद्यमिता के लिए सरकारी योजनाओं का लाभ उठाने वाले अनुसूचित जाति (एससी) लाभार्थियों के प्रतिशत पर डेटा अनिवार्य रूप से रिपोर्ट करें। यह निर्देश राष्ट्रीय अनुसूचित जाति आयोग (NCSC) द्वारा उठाई गई चिंताओं के बाद आया है कि इस डेटा की अनुपस्थिति उसके संवैधानिक कर्तव्यों में बाधा डाल रही थी। NCSC ने बताया कि यह जानकारी नियमित समीक्षाओं से गायब थी, जिससे एससी समुदायों के सामाजिक-आर्थिक विकास की निगरानी करने की उसकी क्षमता प्रभावित हो रही थी। आरबीआई-सूचित बैंकों की अध्यक्षता वाली समितियों में सरकारी विभाग और वित्तीय संस्थान शामिल हैं और ये त्रैमासिक बैठकें करती हैं।
