Gajapati Police Destroy Over 5.2 Tonnes of Ganja Seized in 25 Cases

Gajapati district police have destroyed over 5.23 tonnes of ganja, seized in 25 cases under the NDPS Act. The contraband was incinerated at Arakhapada in Ganjam district following approval from the drug disposal committee and adherence to court procedures. This action is part of ongoing efforts by law enforcement in Odisha to clear seized narcotics. In the last nine months, police in Gajapati seized over 26 tonnes of ganja, valued at approximately Rs 22 crore, leading to the arrest of 27 individuals and the seizure of 12 vehicles.
