Man Killed, Woman Injured in Kochi Truck-Scooter Collision at High Court Junction

A 48-year-old man, Binu of Ochira, was killed and his relative Preetha seriously injured in a collision between a tanker truck and their scooter at Kochi's High Court Junction early Wednesday. The truck, travelling from Menaka towards Kaloor, hit the scooter, throwing both occupants onto the road with severe head injuries. The truck driver, Rafeek of Aroor, has been booked for negligent driving and culpable homicide not amounting to murder. The vehicle has been taken into police custody.

कोच्चि के हाई कोर्ट जंक्शन पर बुधवार तड़के एक टैंकर ट्रक और स्कूटर की टक्कर में ओचिर के रहने वाले 48 वर्षीय बिनु की मौत हो गई और उनकी रिश्तेदार प्रीथा गंभीर रूप से घायल हो गईं। मेनका से काल्लूर की ओर जा रहे ट्रक ने स्कूटर को टक्कर मार दी, जिससे दोनों सवार गंभीर चोटों के साथ सड़क पर गिर गए। ट्रक चालक अरोर निवासी रफीक के खिलाफ लापरवाही से गाड़ी चलाने और गैर इरादतन हत्या का मामला दर्ज किया गया है। पुलिस ने वाहन को हिरासत में ले लिया है।
