Odisha CM Demands CEC Resignation Over Disagreements

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has demanded the immediate resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, citing internal disagreements within the Election Commission. Patnaik stated that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls must be revisited due to sharp differences between election commissioners and the CEC. BJD has consistently opposed the SIR process, alleging discrepancies and the deletion of over 25 lakh eligible voters. The party also raised concerns about 13 crore names being struck off draft voter rolls nationwide, questioning the Election Commission's independence.

ओडिशा के मुख्यमंत्री नवीन पटनायक ने चुनाव आयोग में आंतरिक मतभेदों का हवाला देते हुए मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त ज्ञानेश कुमार से तत्काल इस्तीफे की मांग की है। पटनायक ने कहा कि चुनाव आयुक्तों और सीईसी के बीच तीखे मतभेदों के कारण मतदाता सूची के स्पेशल इंटेंसिव रिवीजन (SIR) पर फिर से विचार किया जाना चाहिए। बीजेडी लगातार एसआईआर प्रक्रिया का विरोध कर रहा है, जिसमें विसंगतियों और 25 लाख से अधिक योग्य मतदाताओं के नाम हटाए जाने का आरोप लगाया गया है।
